2021 Toyota Upcoming Cars in India – Toyota Kirloskar, an Indian subsidiary of Japanese automakers, recently introduced a premium hatchback Glanza (Maruti Suzuki Baleno) in the country. In addition, car manufacturers have some new products that will hit our beaches in the coming years. Here’s a complete list of Toyota cars to be launched in India for 2019 and 2020, read on to find out more.



A Japanese automakers, Toyota was working on a sub-4 metre SUV for the Indian market. This Model will be based on Maruti Vitara Brezza. Toyota and Maruti Suzuki signed a partnership last year in India. Maruti Suzuki will supply Vitara Brezza and Baleno premium hatchback to Toyota. It is expected that Toyota will rearrange the style of this SUV, and the price will be slightly higher.

The new Model will likely receive some design changes in line with other Toyota cars in India. It is expected to get a new exterior and a more premium cab with advanced features such as touch screen infotainment system, climate control and others.

Among all the Toyota cars that will be launched on the 2019, 2020, this is probably the most expensive of all. Featured in the 2018 Auto Expo, the Toyota Alphard premium MPV will be brought to India as a CBU unit. In the Toyota range in India, Alphard will be placed on top of Innova and receive additional equipment over his brother. That said, the hybrid MPV comes with a number of features including a panoramic sunroof, touch screen infotainment system, automatic climate control, sliding door operated by a button, a new-generation Toyota Safety Sense P Safety Suite, ABS with EBD, TCS, VSC, EPS, etc. The three-line layout is good enough to accommodate 7-8 adults. The exterior design is quite aggressive with the headlights and LED back lights with LED sequential turn indicators, sporty large griles, LED fog lights, and an 18-inch alloy.

The power source on the hybrid MPV will likely include a 2.5 litre hybrid gasoline engine from the Camry hybrid. This Unit generates a maximum power of 157, 7bhp against 213Nm torque. The transmission task is expected to be performed by a 6-speed automatic box supported by a four-wheel electric drive system.

The fourth Model in the upcoming Toyota car list is Rush compact SUV. Aiming to utilize the compact premium SUV room, Japanese automakers are considering Rush for the Indian market. In this space, the new Toyota SUV will lock the horns against Hyundai Creta and Renault Captur. This 7-seater SUV shares most of its design bits with the Daihatsu FT concept previewed at GIIAS 2015. While the front fascia car has been decorated by New Black lattice, L-shaped DRL, hexagonal radiator grille and black mist lamp, its side profile looks sporty with black plastic cladding, thick folds, and chrome door handles. It also gets an LED back light and a stop light along with a sporty rear spoiler and a bumper with a reflector.

Rush offers a spacious and practical interior with a variety of convenience and connectivity features. The list of features includes a 7.0-liter touch screen with web link capabilities and Miracast, automatic climate control, new dashboard design with beige trim, etc. On the safe front, SUV gets ABS with EBD, six air pockets, VSC, Hill Start assistance and other active and passive safety equipment. Under the skin, expect Rush to come with a 1.4-liter diesel engine sourced from Corolla Altis, although we are still waiting for information to be officially disclosed in the mechanical part.

The Japanese automakers will also introduce a Ciaz-badge intermediate-size sedan in the country. In fact, the company has sold Yaris in this segment. Similar to the hatchback Glanza, the Toyota Ciaz sedan will accept small design changes along with the ‘ Toyota ‘ badge. There will be no changes to the engine. Similar to Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, the Toyota badge version will come with a 1.3 L diesel Multijet and a new 1.5 L gasoline powertrain. The oil burner will be enhanced with the light hybrid SHVS Suzuki technology. The transmission options will include manual 5-speed and automatic 4-speed.

Next in the upcoming Toyota car list is a reversion of the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga. Similar to the hatchback Glanza and Ciaz-based sedan, the design, features and engine of the Toyota Ertiga will remain unchanged. Although, Japanese automakers might make subtle tweaks to the front façade along with replacing the Maruti Suzuki badge. May get a new gril and headlights inspired by the Toyota Rush SUV with global specifications. The new chrome and alloy treatments can also distinguish them from Maruti Ertiga. Under the hood, the Toyota Ertiga will feature the same 1.5 L gasoline ready BS6 and the new 1.5 L diesel engine generates a 104bhp worth of power with 138Nm and 94bhp with 225Nm respectively.

In addition to launching a re-version of Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, Toyota also worked on C-segment MPV. Rumors say that the new Toyota MPV may have its world premiere at the 2022 Delhi Auto Expo. It will be developed jointly by Toyota and Suzuki and will be sold through Maruti Suzuki’s showrooms. The new MPV will be based on the monocoque platform, making it lighter and more efficient than Mahindra Marazzo-based ladder frame. It will have a 7 seat layout and interior packed with some features of comfort, connectivity and advanced safety.

The CH-R Crossover is definitely one of the most awaited Toyota cars in India. It will be a 5 seater premium SUV that will be faced directly with Jeep Compass and Hyundai Tucson. Designed on the Toyota’s New Global Architecture (TNGA) platform, this compact SUV is reportedly present with a smaller 1.2 litre turbocharged gasoline engine. This gasoline Unit emits an 113bhp energy value against the 184Nm torque. On the other hand, the hybrid version gained its power from a 1.8-liter TSI unit paired with an electric motor. This hybrid Motor is expected to be able to remove the combined power of 168bhp with 305Nm torque. In addition, the petrol unit is 148bhp, 2.0 liters can be used in the top-spec variant. Transmission options will include manual 6-acceleration, automatic 6-acceleration and CVT gearbox. This SUV will be packed with many features such as a large 8.0-inch infotainment system, intelligent entry system, JBL audio system with 9 speakers etc.

Another hybrid in the upcoming Toyota car list is a new generation Camry that was officially previewed at the 2017 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. The new generation Camry will be built on the new TNGA Toyota (Toyota New Global Architecture), and will accept important changes for a more premium look. In addition, more and more will get dimensional change and will be packaged in a raft of security and technological convenience. That said, expect a new generation of Camry to come with 10 airbags, standard backup cameras, electronic vehicle stability control, ABS, traction control, brake assistance etc. For power generation, the new Camry will get a new 3.5 L V6, a 2.5 L and a new generation Toyota Hybrid system. This machine will be attached to the new Direct Shift-8AT gearbox.

Expected Price – Rs 35 lakh to Rs 42 lakh
